The team learned so much while in the New Orleans area. Their lives and hearts were touched in so many ways by the people they met, and the things that they saw...
The Van Crew Russ, Dean, Troy, Don, Bob, Dave, and Paul. The van crew drove straight through from Peshtigo to Gretna in a bit under 24 hours.
The Flying Crew Glen, Ryan, Dave, Mike and Mike. The flying crew flew out of Chicago. For Glen, it was his first time on a plane.

Team Katrina Relief With homeowners John and Dagmar, in front of the pile of rubble which was once their personal possessions.

Taking a much needed break. Can you imagine wearing full Haz-Mat suits in 75 degree temperatures, when you've just come from below freezing temps? |

Team Katrina Relief Out to dinner with new friend, homeowner Anthony and his fiancée. A favorite meal was Po Boy Sandwiches.

The team members all agreed that the devastation was more than they had imagined, and what they had seen on television had not prepared them for what it would be like in person.
The team felt privileged to get to know Anthony, whose house was their second project. As a decorated officer of the New Orleans Police Department, and a military veteran, Anthony had his share of awards and medals, but the one thing he was most worried about salvaging was the blanket his son had earned when he became an Eagle Scout.

The hurricanes had the effect of causing the treasures of a lifetime to be turned into just so much debris.

Meal time was also a time for fellowship with the other volunteers. The sleeping arrangements consisted of cots and air mattresses. The guys learned quickly to take the mattresses off of the cots, as the arrangement was slightly unstable. Ask Glen about the interrupted night of sleep he had! :-) With around one hundred men sleeping in a big gymnasium, it was quickly nicknamed The Frog Pond, for reasons which will become obvious if you think about it long enough.

Some of the sights that the men saw defied imagination.
the real reason that the men were there.
